The Corps

If you're a fan of action and adventure, love sports and getting to know people then you're in the right place.

Our aim is to enable the development of personal responsibility, leadership and self-discipline.

I want to get fitter!

We are always on the go! Whether its sailing, canoeing, hill walking or swimming, there will always be something active for you to enjoy!

I want to make more friends!

Making new friends can be tough, especially if you are shy or maybe new to the area. Joining the Marine Training Corps will instantly give you the access and confidence you need to find new friends both within the organisation and elsewhere.

I want to learn new skills!

Being successful in life is not just about being great at school although education is, of course, important. Its also about life skills such as being confident and sociable. Our range of activities can give you both practical skills and confidence and our unit environments will help you with social skills too.

I want better career options!

Even if you don't want a career with the armed forces you will find that Marine Training Corps cadets are more confident and well rounded than their peers who have not been involved a structured youth organisation. Plus, our access to Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Courses will give you a great edge in the job seeking world. Employers will always look favourably on candidates who have used their spare time being involved in youth group, especially one that can offer real life skills and tangible awards like the ones mentioned above.

I`m Bored!

You will never be bored with the MTC ! Most units parade once or twice a week with regular weekend activities.
